Our Account and Team

An exciting opportunity to work on a fast-growing and fast-paced global portfolio account. This diverse account has delivered award-winning, innovative and creative projects across both traditional medical education initiatives, including symposia and advisory boards and evolving digital platforms and media.

The established, friendly and supportive account team (comprised of client services and editorial) continually strives to push the boundaries of Medical Education through the implementation of innovative and unique tools and methods across projects. Their aim is to consistently go above and beyond the clients’ expectations to deliver effective solutions as well as to establish strong relationships with stakeholders across the brand. With a strong focus on internal and external education and training, this account provides an outstanding opportunity to develop strategic and scientific communication expertise as well as project management and event skills in a creative, imaginative team and environment that supports professional and personal development.

Role Summary

An experienced Account Manager responsible for the day-to-day planning, organisation and execution of client programmes, including:

  • financial project management of assigned projects;
  • management and routine decision-making responsibilities for multiple small/medium sized projects with support from the Account Director
  • acting as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and KOLs for individual projects;
  • delegation to/working closely with/mentoring of junior team members;
  • active involvement in the strategic and scientific requirements of the account;
  • facilitation of effective team working

Requirements

What we need from an Account Manager

We are looking for candidates who understand and implement a proactive, client-focused approach at all times and who set the standard as a positive role model for more junior members of the team to follow. You will need to be able to apply consistently high standards, tailor your style according to the audience, present confidently and be able to develop and build relationships with clients.

Our Account Managers need to be able to establish priorities and anticipating problems in order to meet deadlines, juggle and prioritise to meet deadlines, find solutions and assess resourcing needs for the account. Being able to anticipate potential problems with projects and clients and know how and when to raise these with senior colleagues is key. We are looking for people who are ready and willing to accept responsibility and extra work with excellent attention to detail and first-class project management skills.

All of our team need to be committed to understanding out client’s brand strategy and apply this to development of tactical programmes and proposals. We are looking for candidates who enjoy the challenge of looking for gaps in our client’s programmes and developing ideas and new business proposals.

Effective financial management of client budgets and internal reporting processes is a key part of this role. We are looking for candidates who are confident and effective at preparing project SoWs and updates, and budget estimates and invoices, tracking of project financial status and managing internal reporting and invoicing. This role also covers providing basic financial training to junior team members.

Things we are looking to see (in addition to above):

  • Experience as a Senior Account Executive within a healthcare, medcomms or meded agency
  • A track record of success in project management and delivery across a variety of medical education projects, as well as financial management
  • Excellent time management skills; dependable, conscientious, keen and reliable; able to juggle and prioritise, meet challenging deadlines, find solutions and work under pressure; ready to accept responsibility and extra work
  • Good understanding of pharma regulations
  • Desire to grow and develop our business as well as personally within the role; challenge the status quo and be part of developing new creative approaches and solutions to both our client’s problems and our internal priorities
